Branford Elementary School (BES) would like to take this time during the Thanksgiving Holiday to give their students the opportunity to participate in service learning.
BES is asking each grade level to contribute food for Thanksgiving Baskets for families that otherwise might not be able to have a Thanksgiving dinner. Area grocery stores, churches and service organizations are contributing the turkeys.
BES asks that each grade level bring in the items below starting October 16 through November 9:
Kindergarten - Green Beans (Cans)
First Grade - Corn (Cans)
Second Grade - Stuffing (Boxes)
Third Grade - Fruits (Cans – Pears, Peaches, Apple Sauce, Etc.)
Fourth Grade - Desserts (Boxed or Cans)
Fifth Grade - Instant Potatoes or Sweet Potatoes (Boxes / Cans)
Prek & Ms. Allen - Cranberry Sauce or Condiments (Cans, Etc.)
Student Council members will pick up the food items from each classroom and place them on the cafetorium stage.
