Students in Mrs. Keen Kindergarten class at Suwannee Primary School learned about three-dimensional shapes on October 24, 2017.
According to Keen, she introduced each shape and discussed each individual shape’s attributes. Students explored real world shapes by pulling real world shapes out of Keen’s teacher shape bag and determined what shape matched the real world shape.
The students then participated in a partner explore activity, 3D shape hunt. The students and their partner took clipboards and recording sheets to find and record real world 3D shapes in the classroom. Once our shape hunt was over, students returned to the carpet and shared their findings.
Keen says, “I believe learning should be fun and students should be actively engaged.”
