Suwannee Intermediate School (SIS) completed a two-day reading assessment boot camp on July 20 at the Douglas Center.

Robbin Chapman lead the boot camp, specifically teaching the students about textual evidence and how to find it. Chapman gave the students highlighters to go through the text to find the answers to questions. Chapman wanted the students to become familiar with textual evidence because she knows it is vital to their success next year.

Chapman went over supporting details as well. Chapman read stories to the students and went through the text with them to help them find key supporting details. In addition to reading to the students, Chapman also had an interactive game to play with the students that helped them find supporting details.
