Suwannee Middle School (SMS) and Suwannee High School (SHS) traveled to Branford on December 9 to take part in the 2016 Sub-District contest.

           

SHS results were:

Sarah Beth Lee - Elected Sub-District Chair and 1^st Place Prepared Public Speaking

Lexi Fletcher – 1^st Place Extemporaneous Public Speaking

Katelyn Floyd – 1^st Place Creed Speaking

Sarah Beth Lee, Dillon Harrell, Savannah Jackson, Maggie Reaves, Chason Howle, Alexis Fletcher – 2^nd Place Senior Parliamentary Procedure

Dale Williams – 3^rd Place Tractor Driving

Addison Elliott – 4^th Place Extemporaneous Public Speaking

Katelyn Floyd, Joe Isidro, Addison Elliott, Kaitlyn Otterbine, Chelsie Selliken, Madyson Tompkins – 4^th Place Junior Parliamentary Procedure

           

The three first place winners (Lee, Floyd, and Fletcher) will advance to the District III competitions on January 18 to compete for the district titles and advancements to state.

SHS FFA Advisor Sarah Trimm says, “The potential in Suwannee FFA is astounding and the future is bright for our program. SMS FFA Advisor Katheryn Quincey says, “I am proud of the dedication and hard work our SMS FFA members have put into preparing for and competing in the Sub-District contests. It has been a humbling experience to watch the students develop over the course of such a short time. As an FFA advisor, it is my pleasure to be able to give them new opportunities to grow and succeed. Being our first year and a young team, I saw young leaders working together and collaborating to improve and push our community forward.
