Hurricane Michael Update - Schools Closed

October 8, 2018 - October 12, 2018

Announcement from Superintendent Roush, 10/8/2018, 2:42PM:

Based on the best information that is available, and taking into the need for shelter operation needs, we will be closing school for Tuesday, October 9, through Thursday, October 11; and Friday, October 12, remains a regularly scheduled teacher workday.

All extracurricular activities are suspended for the remainder of the week beginning Tuesday, October 9th, including homecoming activities and the homecoming game for Suwannee High School. Please see the Suwannee High School web page and Facebook for specific reschedule dates/times.

These decisions are not made in haste and must be made based on the best available information, allowing for adequate time for planning complete shelter operations including food service, check-in logistics, supplies, custodial, maintenance, health services, and administrative supervision/assignment.

The school board meetings for tomorrow will be held as scheduled.

Unless otherwise contacted or scheduled for shelter operations, all employees are off until Friday, October 12.

Please take care of yourself and your families. Be safe and pray for the best possible outcome!
