Eight grade student Evan Procko from Branford High School (BHS) recently had his artwork selected for the “Art in the Capitol Competition.”

According to the Florida Department of Education, the “Art in the Capitol Competition” is a statewide visual arts competition that requires each school district to annually hold an art competition for all students in grades 6 through 8. A selection committee consisting of art teachers whose students have not submitted work for the competition judge the artwork.

Procko’s art work is to be given to the legislator of the district in which the student resides no later than 60 days prior to the start of the regular legislative session. The 2019 Legislative Session begins on March 5, 2019.

BHS art teacher Vaster Fryar says, "Evan is a very creative and talented student. I am always amazed at the work he creates and it is so nice to see his work recognized."
