The BHS Beta Club received the Gold Key Award for their growth in club membership and convention membership.  BHS competed in two competitions for the first time in the school’s history and brought freshmen to the convention.  These included Freshman Problem Solving and a Group Talent Performance, as well as freshmen competing in academic tests.

Out of the 30 members who attended, 15 participants placed in both group and individual competitions.  These wins included 3 group wins, 5 individual wins, which accounts for 8 total categories of competitions.

Our engineering team, who placed third in the state last year, (which was their first time) placed first in the state this year. The Branford Freshmen Problem Solving team placed first and our group talent took third in the state.

These 15 participants are now eligible to attend the Beta National Convention in Fort Worth, Texas.  BHS BETA Club Sponsor Dawn Eakins says, “I am very proud of each of my 30 members who attended and went out of their comfort zone to enjoy and experience an event like no other.  I am also very thankful for all my Beta officers who made the trip smoother and more manageable.  I look forward to what Branford Beta will do at the National Convention.”
