Twelfth grade Suwannee High School (SHS) student Ciandra Smith recently received a letter from Florida’s Governor Rick Scott thanking Smith for her participation in the 2018 Black History Month Essay Contest.
In the letter Scott says, “Florida’s communities have benefitted greatly from the influence of African-American leaders and heroes, and I applaud your role in sharing this rich part of our state’s history. I wish you continued success throughout this school year and know that your hard work will prepare you for future success.”
