Jerry Taylor is a lifetime resident of Live Oak, Florida. He was raised on a farm in Suwannee County and graduated from Suwannee High School in 1968. After high school, Mr. Taylor began working and eventually started his own business. In 1970, Mr. Taylor married his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Musgrove. They have one daughter, Adrienne, who is a teacher for Suwannee County School District.
Mr. Taylor was elected to the Suwannee County School Board in 1996. He is an active member of First Baptist Church of Live Oak, where he serves as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. In his free time, Mr. Taylor loves to work on his farm, attend Gator football games, and play as much golf as he can.
