Florida’s Finest
Recently the Branford High School FFA Chapter received the “Florida Finest”. According to the Florida FFA Press Release, “The selection of these chapters is based upon completion of the National Chapter Award program application. These chapters have excelled in the areas of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture and have worked hard to fulfill the mission and vision of the FFA.” The BHS FFA Program will receive recognition at the 2020 Florida FFA Celebration and will represent Florida at the national level at the National Chapter Award Program.
BHS Chapter Advisor Stacy Young says, “Our chapter has worked extremely hard this year to meet all of the requirements of the National FFA Organization to be electively for this award. As an advisor, I am extremely proud of my members, community and alumni for helping us to achieve this goal.”
American FFA Degree
The Florida FFA recently announced 115 students who have submitted an application to receive the coveted American FFA Degree. According to the Florida FFA Press Release, “The American FFA Degree is the highest honor bestowed upon any regular member of the National FFA Organization. These applicants will be forwarded on to the National FFA Organization for consideration as candidates for the American FFA Degree. Each applicant will be recognized during the 7th session of the 2020 Florida FFA Celebration.”

Sarah Beth Lee – Suwannee High School
Agricultural Advocacy Award
Branford High School is one of five chapter program finalists for the 2020 Chapter Agricultural Advocacy award. According to the Florida FFA Press Release, this program is designed to encourage FFA members to participate in agricultural literacy and awareness projects on the local level.
BHS Chapter President Barrett Young says, “Promoting agriculture to elementary age students is important. Kids need to learn that food comes from a farm and not a grocery store. I am proud of my chapter’s accomplishments in the agricultural advocacy program through the Florida FFA.”
