Suwannee High School (SHS), in cooperation with the School Advisory Council (SAC), held the third annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase and Art Show on April 11, 2019 at the SHS courtyard.
Eleven different programs were represented: Art, Agriculture, Allied Health, Band, Computer Science (CSIT), Culinary Arts, Digital Design, Digital Information Technology, Finance Academy, Game Design and NJROTC.
All of the programs had interactive booths set up for the public to see what they do in their program. NJROTC conducted drills, the allied health program held a CPR demonstration and checked blood pressure, and game design had multiple student built computers to play video games on, just to name a few.
Art work was on display in the SHS Library. The artwork included 2-D and 3-D work all done by SHS students.
Culinary arts students held a competition, “Cupcake Wars”. Students from culinary arts designed their own movie themed cupcake. A Ghostbusters cupcake designed by Blanca Solis won the popular vote at the CTE Showcase. The judges’ choice for the cupcakes went to Natalie Robinson, Lindsey Ignacio, Amaya Johnson, and Alexis Nicholson.
