Suwannee High School (SHS) held a Medal of Honor Ceremony on March 22, 2019.

SHS NJROTC Lieutenant Commander Merisley Leal led the ceremony by reading the history behind the Medal of Honor. Suwannee County School Board Member and Chairman Ed DaSilva then spoke about Robert Jenkins, a man from Interlachen who received the Medal of Honor for his bravery during battle.

The SHS Color Guard presented the flags during the ceremony. The Color Guard members are: Richard Adams, Cody Blackburn, Merlin Leal, and Christian Dixon.
