RIVEROAK Technical College (RTC) held its annual Career Fair and Program Showcase on February 28, 2018 on RTC’s campus.

Close to 60 businesses and organizations were on campus with booths highlighting the services they offer.

Several presentations were held throughout the afternoon on campus including a K-9 demonstration involving multiple officers and dogs from various counties and a roll over vehicle from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The event was open to the public and students from Suwannee Middle, Suwannee High, Lafayette High, Westwood Christian School, and Corinth Academy went on guided tours to get a better look at RTC and their programs. Tours were conducted by the student services staff. Coordinator of Career and Technical Education Student and Community Affairs Julie Ulmer says, “We are always excited to give tours to potential students. On career day we had both middle and high school students from both private and public schools in the surrounding area.” If anyone is interested in touring RIVEROAK contact RTC’s student services staff to schedule a tour.

RTC Adult Basic Education teacher and event coordinator Tracy Henderson says, “I am pleased with this year's turnout, the variety of organizations that were represented, and the level of community support. Our goals for next year are to increase the number of high school seniors attending, as well as increase participation of adults from Suwannee County and the surrounding communities. Hopefully, we were able to provide opportunities for young adults to investigate career and educational pathways that available to them.”
