RIVEROAK Technical College (RTC) sent two students, Olivia Bruening and Jakob Holub, to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the SkillsUSA Championships the week of June 17.

The SkillsUSA Championships are competitive events highlighting the best career and technical education students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels. Bruening (Masonry) and Holub (Carpentry) both won a gold medal at the SkillsUSA Florida State Conference, which qualified them for the national competition.

At the national competition, Bruening placed tenth and Holub finished 40.

RTC Director Mary Keen says, “RIVEROAK is very proud of both Olivia and Jakob.  They represented RTC well and are to be commended for all of their hard work and accomplishments.”
