Suwannee Academic Boosters (SAB) held a banquet luncheon on May 18, 2017 at RIVEROAK Technical College honoring the Suwannee High School (SHS) Brain Bowl team.

SAB President John Hendrick welcomed those in attendance and handed out Shell gas gift cards. The Brain Bowl members recognized were Timothy Choe, Jamie Good, Natalie Lord, and Alexandor McMillan. SAB also honored Michael Pate, the Brain Bowl coach and SHS History Teacher, who is retiring this year. Pate led SHS Brain Bowl team to 17 titles in 32 years of coaching the Brain Bowl.

The guest speaker for the luncheon was Matthew Hendrick. Hendrick graduated from SHS in 2015 as one of the Valedictorians. While at SHS, Hendrick actively participated in Brain Bowl all four year of high school. Hendrick was a member of three consecutive State Championship teams.
