Suwannee High School’s (SHS) FFA Environmental Science Team placed fifth at the 2016 Environmental Science State Competition in Apopka, Florida on January 17.
SHS’s Environmental Science Team consisted of Cassidy Monroe, Kaleb Dye, Natalie Lord, and Timothy Choe. Coming into the state competition, SHS placed ninth in the preliminary event.
SHS FFA Advisor Travis Tuten says one of the biggest challenges was scheduling times for the team members to meet and practice for the competition. Tuten says, “It was tough to get this group to get up and meet together because of how busy the individuals on the team are. They did some cram sessions the week before to help prepare for the state competition.”
